Prof Tom Gallagher

Tom Gallagher is a Consultant Hepatobiliary & Transplant Surgeon in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin (SVUH) and Associate Professor of Surgery at University College Dublin. Following his surgical training in Dublin, he pursued fellowship training in Queen Mary’s Hospital, Hong Kong, the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.

He sits on the executive council of the European-African HPB Association (EAHPBA), and amongst several research interests, he is the specialty advisor on Transplantation to the British Journal of Surgery.

He has been appointed as clinical lead for pancreas cancer surgery in SVUH and also leads the Irish National Pancreas transplant program.
